Moose Ed: Tile Editor
A downloadable tool for Windows and macOS
Moose Ed is a tile level editor for grid-based games. Import sprite sheets, slice them, create terrain brushes, tile definitions, and draw your levels. Ed supports animations, custom tile sizes, blending modes, script export, automatic terrain painting and much more.
You can also download Ed from Windows Store: https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9NZ2HB9P3L1V
I'm actively developing and maintaining this project as my day job, so supports are appreciated.
Make sure you constantly save your project, there are a lot of bugs I still have to fix :)
Send me your creations, suggestions, requests and bug reports on Twitter/X: @samafshari. Would love to hear from you! 😍
Email for oldschoolers: contact@chillingmoose.com
The .moose file format is an ordinary ZIP file containing a JSON file with all the data, as well as image files for sprite sheets.
Supported sprite sheet formats are: PNG, TGA, TIFF, DDS, JPG, and others.
Notes on the macOS build:
- Install .net 8.0 SDK or runtime,
